Solar & Wind Farms

S. & T. Group holds maintenance contracts with solar and wind farms and power grids in Algoma region. Our electricians are responsible for performing routine maintenance on these sources by troubleshooting and testing equipment. During site visits, we are required to review notifications on equipment, consult logs of previous work and observe potential faults in the system. Where required, our electricians will repair deficiencies to ensure that the system and equipment is back running and responsive as soon as possible.

Our electricians have completed numerous sub-station upgrades and maintenance contracts. We are highly skilled in installing brand new high-voltage switch gear, transformers and motor control centres (MCCs), as well as performing troubleshooting and testing techniques. They are trained to diagnose deficiencies and perform repairs and upgrades to circuit breakers, transformers, power cables and other sub-station elements, when needed. S.&T. Group's electricians are competent in schematics and trained in proper lock-out and tag-out procedures to ensure safe working conditions.

Co-Generation Plants

Co-generation plants are highly efficient alternatives to conventional electricity and site-produced heat sources. They operate through combined heat and power (CHP) to produce a highly efficient form of energy conservation. S. & T. Group has performed maintenance and upgrades to CHP plants across Northern Ontario. Our electricians are competent in these energy systems and are certified to perform work on necessary equipment while abiding by required safety standards.

High-Voltage Health & Safety

In each of these high-voltage settings, S. & T. Group electricians and apprentices use caution and only perform work when it is safe to do so. Our team has been trained on all necessary health and safety regulations including lock-out, tag-out and Arch Flash. In addition, we are certified as a Qualified Person for high-voltage switching and are qualified as holders of records. S. & T. Group believes and understands the importance of safety and we consistently hold it at high priority during every site visit and project.
